There is a book about a dog named Jock called "Jock of the Bushveld".

And "Jock" is a typically American expression for a stereotyped athletic, jerk-ish kind of teenager. Or whatever.

Heheheh, I can't even describe how silly this name sounds. Someone named Jock will be told that he's a dumb Jock.

This just reminds me of jock itch.

Great. You want your kid to be associated with meatheaded jerks in lame high school movies?

Jock is also a short form for the name Jacob and his cognates around the world. In German for the name Jakob there are Jockel or Jackel as nicknames.
