What is with French people putting random Os in names related to Geoffrey? Really dislike this name.

I used to like this name and thought it was a great alternative to Jeffrey but Game of Thrones has ruined this name. Might as well name your child Caligula.

The name itself is not bad, by any means. But no one is using this in a serious capacity any time soon - unless they somehow both heard this name and live in a corner of the world that the TV series "Game of Thrones" (adapted from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series) has not touched. King Joffrey Baratheon is one of the most hated villains in recent TV history - maybe Top 10 of all time (not an exaggeration).
Not due to being poorly written or played, oh no. Actor Jack Gleeson did an amazing job with this narcissistic sociopath who would crush anyone to get power but doesn't know what to really do with said power. As his uncle Tyrion famously said, "We've had vicious kings, and we've had idiot kings, but I don't think we've ever been cursed with a vicious idiot king!" And then he slapped Joffrey - again. For all of us.
