Someone asked if anyone pronounced it JO-ziv. We West Coasters do. Our family at least slurs the final "-iph"(or "-if") so it sounds like a "-iv", especially if we are talking fast. And we slur the s into a z as well. :)
Stalin's name was pronounced Josef but the Americans pronounced it Joseph, plus he also aided World War 2.
Has anyone heard this name pronounced like 'JO-ziv' in English? I think sometimes it comes out that way but I'm not sure what kind of accent that is.
Joseph is also pronoucned JO-zəf (or JOZ-if) in English.
This is my brother's name. It can also be pronounced "jo-sehf", equal stress on each syllable.
