The "Lacht" used in this name is the Irish interpretation of the English root "lact," used as the base of words like lactose, lactation, or lacteal. In all of these cases, "Lact" refers to the presence of milk.
I think it comes from the same root as "lactose" or something.
I might be wrong but I don't see how Lachtna can be related to the word for milk, báinne.
Lacht is the old Irish word for milk. Bainne comes from old Irish bannae meaning drop.
To me this is a pretty female sounding name though.
