Irish Gaelic name meaning "radiant girl", often Anglicized as Louisa.

I have heard it pronounced lee-sha. It sounds like Alicia without the "A".

I have seen this name spelled (here in Canada) Leesha so it would be pronounced correctly.

Yea well we don't all live in Canada, thank good. The Irish way is beautiful and looks prettier aswell. Go the Irish!

I love this name! It's so pretty and I would love to call my child this.

Yet again, another Irish name with a really pretty spelling but ruined by how it is said.

I've only heard this name pronounced loh-sha.

Downmarket name. The spelling looks a bit too much like 'louse' to work in an English speaking country too, though Leesha is popular. I do like Saorise though.

Very close to County Laois (pronounced Leesh), a county in Ireland.

I think the name is a little upper class for my liking but given to a child with Irish surname it could be very nice, very common among Irish teachers for their children- think Alicia the English form is nicer though in this circumstance.
