Not as much a form of Linus as it is a word for 'flax'. Flax was one of the main materials for various production, such as fabrics, oil or vegetable dye, in ancient Lithuania, therefore a special plant. [noted -ed]
Linas is actually the Lithuanian form of Linus. [noted -ed]
