Possibly going to be an unpopular opinion, but I much prefer the Lindsay spelling. Lindsay, spelled that way, is in my top ten.
I just find the spelling prettier. The fact that Lindsey makes better sense phonetically doesn’t bother me. One letter can make a real difference.
Not to say Lindsey isn’t a bad spelling of the name! I just have my preference.

My sister's name is Lindsey, and it is a very nice name. It sounds pretty, and the spelling is far superior to "Lindsay," which does not sound or look half as nice. However, my sister dislikes her name greatly, so I guess it is just a matter of opinion.

After I married my husband whose surname is Lindsey, I have been called Lindsey by mistake constantly. My first name is Diane. I think it's because it was and still is such a popular name that it is the only name they hear. I don't mind. Frankly, I love having it as my last name.

I think it's a pretty name that reminds me of linden trees, or just green forests. Something sort of mild and sweet about it. To me it sort of is okay on Lindsey Buckingham because he is so talented and original, but I wouldn't want to see this name for most men.

Lindsey is a beautiful name, but I personally love it more as a girl’s name than a boy’s name. I don’t think Lindsey would suit a male as it sounds so feminine. Not as a proper boy’s name. But as an unusual boy’s name. Lindsey is actually far more unique as a boy's name than Casey as a boy's name. But both names are much better as girl names. Lindsey has always been an unusual name to give to a boy since it’s always been more popular for girls, just like Mason for a girl. Personally, I wouldn’t use Lindsey as a boy's name unless Lindsey doesn’t cause teasing potential. It would make a better girl's name since we know it’s a normal girl's name of 2019.

I like the spelling Lindsey better than Lindsay. Because Lindsey is spelled how it’s pronounced Lin-sey. I like Lindsay too, only if I pronounced it Lin-say. I still think the E spelling came first just like “Peyton” and “Skyler” and not “Payton” and “Skylar”. I like Lindsey more as a feminine name, but use of the name for a guy has started to grow on me so it’s a nice name for boys and girls. It’s an ultra-rare name for a boy though. We’re talking like way out of the 1000 Popular Boy Names! This is my second comment for Lindsey.

1: I feel like Lindsey is the standard spelling of Lindsay. If Peyton is the original spelling of Payton and Skyler is the original spelling of Skylar, why is it the opposite for Lindsey? In fact I thought Payton AND Skylar were first! I think Lindsey is the standard way to spell Lindsay if all “e” spelled unisex names came first, don’t exclude Lindsey! I think Peyton is the standard spelling of Payton, Skyler the standard spelling of Skylar, AND Lindsey the standard spelling of Lindsay. I hope I made sense:)!

I think Lindsey is way too feminine to be used for a boy, but that’s just my opinion! If a boy got the name Lindsey right now, he would feel like he’s in the minority though! I still prefer it on a girl (despite Lindsey Buckingham)! It’s an okayish name for a boy, but I hope he wouldn’t get teased.

When combined with Lindsay, Linsay, Linsey, Linzi, Lyndsay, Lyndsey and Lynsey, the combined total would be would be 710 females and 53 males.
The name increased further in popularity in the 1970s with variants like Lyndsay, Lyndsey and Lynsey being especially used more frequently thanks in part to Lynsey De Paul, the English singer-songwriter who became famous in 1972 for her songs (i.e. "Sugar Me"). I know I've commented for this name (my name, actually), before, but now I have new insights. As I said before, I like it better with an "e" than an "a" for girls. I think the name is very simple, but not a classic or boring name. It's simple, but pretty at the same time. It's not a super-modern, trendy name, and not too popular, though I do know at least two other Lindseys (or Lindsays). I love its meaning--"linden island." Sometimes I wish I had other names, but I am proud to be named Lindsey! :)

Not only is Lindsey a very pretty Scottish name but it is also the name of a Scottish tartan too. I'm not sure how the tartan Lindsey/Lindsay is spelt but I too prefer the name spelt Lindsey. I know someone called Lindsey. There's discussions between my father and I for me to add a Scottish name to the rest of my names that I already have. I have been looking up at a majority of Scottish names, and the name I think I will choose out of them is the name Lindsey.

This is my last name which was changed from Lindsay to Lindsey in the 16th century when they came to England from Scotland. We are a very old Scottish family that can be traced as far back as Sir James Lindsay of the clan Lindsay of Scotland in 1010. They are known financial supporters of William Wallace.
