Loulou is also a pet form worth noting, it is used in both English and French.
It's weird that the name Louise is not up there for Italian because I am Sicilian, and I have inherited my middle name from a long line of Sicilian women.
The name Louise was extremely popular in the first few decades of the 20th century in France, but became relatively uncommon in the 60's and 70's. It received a comeback beginning in the mid 80's and is now very popular once again.
Yeah it's my middle name too. I hear it pretty much everywhere, I have friends and aunts and cousins and the like with it as a middle name. Classic names seem to be the go for middle names.
