I am surprised to read that Lys is used in Germany. It is not given to children these days. I have never met or read of a Lys in Germany. I am fascinated by names and look out for uncommon names. But I have never come across the name Lys the last thirty years in Germany. [noted -ed]

I have heard this name used by a girl in Brazil. She spoke Portuguese and pronounced it lie-EECE.
