Comments for the name Mahatma

Contrary to popular belief, this is in fact not a name. Therefore, I find it ridiculous to give to a child. To honour Gandhi one should use Mohandas. If I met someone whose name was Mahatma after Gandhi, I would think the parents were very ignorant about Gandhi himself.

Basically, it would be like naming your child "Saint" or "Brother."

It sounds like a lot to live up to. And it's not really a name, but a title.
