Marion Meadows is a smooth jazz saxophonist. In this case, it is a male name.

Francis Marion "The Swamp Fox" was a General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was a popular namesake after that. My great great great grandfather was named Francis Marion Rakestraw in honor of Francis Marion.

Also, Mel Gibson's character in 'The Patriot' was modeled after Francis Marion.

The tragic heroine in Hubert Selby jr.'s novel and Darren Aronofsky's film Requiem for a Dream. In the book her name is Marion Kleinmietz, but in the movie she is Marion Silver.

Marion Lee, a fashion designer from Project Runway: Season 4, bears this name. I rather like it on a guy.

A famous bearer was John Wayne, whose birth name was Marion Michael Morrison. Guess that Marion wasn't masculine enough for a tough actor, whose characters were mostly cowboys, so surely he changed his name to the more masculine John Wayne for the silver screen.
