Richard "Marlin Perkins" (1905–1986) was an American zoologist and host of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom from 1963 to 1985.
Ugly and unattractive and too associated with Finding Nemo. Despise!
Marlin from "Finding Nemo".
Nemo!
It could also be given in reference to the species of fish, marlins.
The name Marlin was given to 85 baby boys born in the US in 2012.
This is a variant of Marlon.
There is a baseball team in Florida called the Marlins.
A marlin is a type of game fish with a spear-bill and rigid dorsal fin. See a picture at:

"Marlin", the proper name and the fish, both find their roots in "Marlin", a shortened form of "marlinspike" which is a pointed iron tool used by sailors to separate strands of rope. Marlin is definitely NOT a variant of Marlon (Marlon finds its origins in the Old French word "merlin" meaning, "little hawk", or is possibly a variant of Merlin or Marcellus.)
This is Nemo's dad's name in 'Finding Nemo,' only his name is taken from the fish.
