I hate this name. It sounds so obnoxious, the meaning is stupid, and reinforces the racist stereotype that people from Latin America are fundamentalist Catholics.

Not stupid at all, beautiful. It means to remember, to be witnessed; giving the sense of an action to keep in thy memory.
Name meanings go beyond their possible cultural prejudgements, at least in this webpage, this is an aim.
