Comments for the name Masamba

When it says it means "leaves," does that refer to the verb leave, or to physical leaves, from a tree?

Also means "leaves" (the singular form is tsamba, ma- gives the plural) in Chichewa, a related Bantu language. Usually refers to greens like cabbage or pumpkin leaves. Chiyao is spoken in the same region as Chichewa and both are a common second language to the other. I.e. a lot of Chiyao speakers also speak Chichewa. However it must be an unusual given name as I've never come across it.
