Comments for MEAGAN:
Hi, my name is Meagan. I think that Meagan is actually a pretty cool name. I think that there are too many different spellings of Meagan though. There could be Meagan, Megan, Meaghan, Meghan, etc. Sometimes I get mad when so many people spell my name wrong. I think that there should only be one spelling of Meagan because otherwise it gets too confusing, people never spell it right. But I do think that Meagan is a really nice name. I'm quite glad that is what my parents decided to name me. Another thing that I like about it is that people can give you nicknames ex. Meg, Meggy, etc. I like having nicknames like that. All in all, I think Meagan is an awesome name.-- dancing-n.a.k.e.d 1/29/2006
I like to be different so when I had my daughter some 15 years ago I spelled her name Meagan. It is pronounced M(long/capital A)gan. Some people mistakenly pronounce it with a long e sound. Meeeeegan is not the way it was intended. It can confuse some people because of the "ea" English rule.-- Summer_Lilly 8/27/2006
I would pronounce it MAY-gan instead of MEG-ann. It seems much prettier.-- Szaturnusz 12/30/2006
In Australia and New Zealand this name is often pronounced with a long 'e' sound, like in the word 'see'. (Mee-gan)-- Anonymous User 6/25/2007
My legal name is Meagan, pronounced may-gan, and I absolutely hate it. It feels very traditional and small-town to me, and I can't imagine anyone ever calling me that. It's not a bad name, just not right for me. I think it's more suited to a middle-aged PTA mom than her child.-- MessOfADreamer 1/16/2009
My middle name is Meagan, but it is pronounced MEE-GAN not MAY-GAN or ME-GAN. I'm 37 years old and before I was born there was a song by Blood, Sweat and Tears called "Meagan's Gypsy Eyes" and they pronounced it MEE-GAN in the song so that's what my mom chose. I like it pronounced MEE-GAN, it seem a little more uncommon that way.-- Samantha Meagan_1971 3/12/2009
I'm not super fond of this spelling of "Megan". While I do like the name and know how it's intended to be pronounced I feel that this spelling suggests either Meegan, me-AG-an or ME-agan.
But it's a pretty name and the spelling could be worse, I guess.-- Anonymous User 3/18/2010
This is my first name (pronounced MEG-an), and while I didn't like when I was younger and wasn't able to find novelty things with the right spelling, I quite like it now.
Plus, when I was a toddler, I told my mother that I knew why she had named me that - I was just like her, so "Me, again!"-- adverb 6/19/2011
I know someone named this who pronounces it may-gan. Pronounced like that, I think it sounds pretty, but I don't like how it looks on paper. Meagan.-- PrincessLeia 6/28/2011
