I appear to be in the minority in the comments on this name, but I actually prefer Michaela pronounced similar to the male "Michael" with an a on the end.

In Polish, MIchaela is pronounced like mee-hah-E-lah, a bit like in Scandinavian languages only that with an h instead of a k and the e isn't as soft.

My name is Michaela (pronounced: mick-eye-la). It’s an old Irish pronunciation of the name and I was actually named after someone. I’ve only ever met one other person with this pronunciation (other than the person I was named after). I like my name, and I love having people try to pronounce my name.

In honor of my father, I was named Michaela Michael (pronounce "Mi-SHEL-ah MI-kael"). I have been called Marshella, Marcella, Mishayla, Mikayla, Mikiella, Marshmella... even "Michella Michell" but I don't mind. I find it interesting that there are so many unique variations of this name, both in spelling and pronunciation. Until Dr. Quinn, I had only seen or heard Michaela a very few times. I rarely correct mispronunciation of my name anymore. But I never hear it pronounced the way my family called me. I realize that the "correct" way to say my name is "Mikayla" as has been pointed out to me on several occasions, but in my opinion that is up to the individual. Just don't call me "late to dinner"...

My name is Michaela. My parents found it in a Hebrew baby book as pronounced Michelle. It's a life of corrections, but my name is pronounced Michelle. I love that it's different.

It's also (rarely) used in the Netherlands. It's pronounced mee-kah-EL-lah or mee-cha-EL-lah (with a hard g).
