Minta Bosley Allen Trotman (1875 – 1949) was an African-American suffragist and community leader, who played a prominent role in "promoting the social welfare and civic participation of black Americans" through her work in Brooklyn. Her daughter Catherine Allen Latimer was the first African-American librarian at the New York Public Library.
Minta Durfee (Araminta Estelle Durfee, October 1, 1889-September 9, 1975), silent screen actress, specially best known for her appearances in several Charlie Chaplin films when he worked for Mack Sennett's Keystone.
I have only encountered this name in Virginia Woolf's novel To the Lighthouse. A character in the novel is named Minta Doyle.
