Modesto Urrutibeazcoa is a Spanish former professional racing cyclist. He rode in two editions of the Tour de France.
Sergeant First Class Modesto Cartagena (1921 – 2010) was a member of the United States Army who served in the 65th Infantry Regiment, a military regiment consisting of Puerto Rican enlisted soldiers and officers from the continental United States also known as "The Borinqueneers," during World War II and the Korean War, becoming the most decorated Hispanic soldier in that war. He was the most decorated Puerto Rican soldier in history.
Modesto "Larry" Dulay Itliong (1913-1977), also known as "Seven Fingers", was a Filipino-American labor organizer. He organized West Coast agricultural workers starting in the 1930s, and rose to national prominence in 1965, when he, Philip Vera Cruz, Benjamin Gines and Pete Velasco, walked off the farms of area table-grape growers, demanding wages equal to the federal minimum wage, that became known as the Delano grape strike. He has been described as "one of the fathers of the West Coast labor movement." He is regarded as a key figure of the Asian American movement.
This is my father's name and I think it suits him well. However, I suppose the name works best in Spanish-speaking countries. Desto can work as a nickname (which is also better then Mo, in my opinion).
