I've researched on this name and came to know that this name has two origins actually, one is in Eyptian as it has shown above and another is in Arabic which means 'elegant and eminent'.

This name has been used in different countries not only Africa but also in Pakistan. It's common among the Africans and is rare in Pakistan, yes it is! As in my home-city there is no one known by Monifa except me, I have not met anybody yet named Monifa.
