Monte Hellman was a famous American director famous for such films as "Two-Lane Blacktop" which became a part of the American counterculture.
Monte Field is a character in the first Ellery Queen novel, The Roman Hat Mystery. He was a corrupt lawyer and the victim.
A recent (and somewhat well-known) bearer of this name is Monte Pearce (born in August 2016 in Amsterdam), the son of the English-Australian actor Guy Pearce (b. 1967) and his partner Carice van Houten (b. 1976), a Dutch actress. He is the first child for both. Given that Monte's mother was born and raised in the Netherlands (with her family still living in the country as well) and that as a result Monte may be raised to be bilingual, it is possible that his name is pronounced in the Dutch way (which is MAWN-tə), rather than the English way. In order to know for certain, we will have to wait for recorded audio or video of one (or both) of his parents pronouncing his name.- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Pearce#Personal_life (in English)
