Means "bright sea", derived from Gaelic muir "sea" and geal "bright".
I think Muirgheal is a very elegant, feminine name. As a woman I would love to be named this. It doesn't hurt that it's interesting, either.
Pronounced MOHR-e-guhl.
I dislike Muirgheal. If I had to name my child this, I would call her Mia or Mae.
Why is Muirgheal included in "names with intelligent meanings"? I know that the "geal" element means "bright," in the sense of light-colored or illuminated. Does "geal" also means "bright" in the sense of clever or smart? If not, Muirgheal should be removed from the list.
This is a very interesting name. I have to say that it is unique, as I had never seen nor heard of it until today.
