Of unknown meaning or origin.A noted bearer is Naqi’a (c. 680–627 BC, Assyria), a wife of King Sennacherib who held an advisory position to the throne under the title of queen mother during the reigns of Esarhaddon and Ashurbanipal, her son and grandson. Because Naqia sometimes adopted the Akkadian name Zakutu, a translation of Naqi'a, scholars have assumed that she was not native to Assyria. Some scholars suggest that Naqia was Hebrew while others contend that she was one of the women that Hezekiah sent to Sennacherib in 701 BC. Naqia was probably born in Babylonia, but her family may have originated in the Harran area.
