Recently discovered another kanji pronounced "nobu" sometimes means "rejoice".

Nobu is often a nickname for longer names both for boys and girls. It's generally just used for a name when it's the first part of the name, but I'll include some name examples with it at both ends.

There is a famous radio pastor (well famous in church circles anyway) named Nobumichi Murakami whose kanji are "preach/declare the Way"... Very appropriate for a pastor.
