This is the name of one of the protagonists of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. In the show, it's spelled "Nya", and she is the Elemental Master of Water. She's a really strong, independent warrior woman. :)
This name means purpose!
I think I prefer this name spelled "Nya" (pronounced the same way). This name is so pretty!
Cute name but I thought of the neko noise when I first saw this.
My name is Nyah and I LOVE it. Shout out to all the other Nyah's out there.
Nya is the main protagonist of Linda Sue Park's novel Long Walk to Water. My boss forced me to read it in mid 2016 when I was about 12.When my boss and I were reading it, she pronounced it Nigh-a or Nee-a, but neither are correct. We were supposed to pronounce the N and the Y together and pronounce it NYAH.
My name is Nyah and people say it's a beautiful name.
Pronounced "NIE-a".
So my name is Nyah and it's pronounced as n-ay-ahI find it hilarious because when people call me they pronounce it as nee-ya. Or if I would let them write my name they would spell it as 'Naya, Naia, Nia, etc.'Though it's really confusing to pronounce and spell my name, it's really unique :)
Love the name. Not a fan of the spelling. Much prefer Nia which can be pronounced as both knee uh or nigh uh. Quite frankly, I much prefer nigh uh (Nia).
Could be a nickname for the name Nayab.
I always pronounced it "EHN-yah."
Is this name pronounced the way it's spelt? Like "nya", the Japanese word for "meow"?
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II! Pretty decent character. Really good name. I saw this film just before Christmas last year, and that is where I heard the name. I think it is an interesting name.
Nyah is beautiful! I first heard it on Mission Impossible II, and I fell in love with it. I'd love to use it one day if I get pregnant and have a girl one day. I agree with Jasmine who said it is refreshing. It is. It's not overused like some names.
Love it! So pretty and very refreshing. :D
Nyah is my sister's name. It means dolphin in Hawaii.
Actually, the Hawaiian word for dolphin is nai'a.
Also spelled Nya, I prefer the spelling Nia.
My daughter's name is also Naya. Its African meaning is "look up to God". Her full name is Amiri Sanaya meaning "blessed child, look up to God".
