Odette is so beautiful, like most French names are, but this one escaped me until recently. It’s so simple and gorgeous, I don’t understand why it’s not popular (I’m glad it isn’t though!)

I absolutely love my name! I have never met someone with the same name! It's unique and powerful. I wouldn't change it ever! I don't even use my second name. Odette Ann, although I love them both! I would have been named Emmarentia Jeanette, but due to a huge family fight about names my mom just opened a baby book with names and picked the first one she noticed.

I love unusual names like this! I hadn't heard it prior to watching the Swan Princess animated film. I was glad when her name was announced that it wasn't something I'd heard of before, but I did think to myself that it wasn't a pretty name. It's not frilly fru fru like most princess names tend to be, which also gives it that extra bit of 'specialness'.
