There's only one Oprah. And I wouldn't consider her namesake material for a kid.

I think it would be a difficult life sentence for any parent to name their child such a unique name that is so polarizing.

Who'd want to share a name with Oprah Winfrey? She's not exactly an honourable person. It's ugly anyway. It reminds me of the words "opera", "orca", and "okra".

Oprah Winfrey pretty much owns this name. I can't see anyone else being named this.

Though Oprah Winfrey is an amazing person, I would not name a child Oprah.

Not only does it sound like "opera", but it brings to mind Oprah Winfrey, who is more infamous in my eyes than famous.

I wouldn't name my kid Oprah because of the stupid talk-show host herself. If you name your kid this, then the first thing that comes to mind is Oprah Winfrey.

Nice name. :) Reminds me of Opera though.

If Orpah hadn't been misspelled on Oprah Winfrey's birth certificate, I would have never come across such a lovely name. I wouldn't use it myself, though.

Oprah is a very ugly name, in my opinion, I don't agree with Oprah on lots of topics either. I never knew that Oprah was supposed to be named Orpah! That's really ironic!

"What if the family turned to Jesus, stopped asking Oprah what to do?" from "What If My People Prayed" by Casting Crowns.

Oprah is one of the most successful women to ever walk this planet! Winfrey is the name and there's no other billionaire like her either, she is a true rags to riches postgirl. I love her; she is beautiful, smart, and strong willed, witted, and wealthed! Anyone who names their child this name better make sure they have the potential to live up to it.

Oprah Winfrey's parents actually meant to name her Orpah after Ruth's sister in law from the Old Testament, but it was misspelled on the birth certificate.
