The Bulgarian word "orel" (the stress is on the [e]) means "eagle". "Orel" is not used as a name in Bulgaria.

This is the name of the title character in a show on Cartoon Network called "Moral Orel".

Who would have thought this is a German name? I like it, though like what the anonymous user above said, it's a character from that show on Adult Swim. I don't really like the show or the AS block.

But for those who do like this; if you want to name your kid this, go ahead it won't faze me any. :) It is a nice name.

Are you kidding me? This is a horrible, obscene name. In today's society, 98% of people will associate it with oral sex.

I recently met someone with this name, he's from Canada and the way his parents pronounce it is OH-rell. Everyone else said or-ell like orelse... If people aren't mature enough to say it properly that's their problem. I think it's a nice name and if I had a son I'd consider this name.

Also used in Israel, with the meaning "light of god". [noted -ed]
