In "The Last Kingdom" this is pronounced PER-e-dur. (and it is a king of Cornwall).
In the south of Wales, it's pronounced Per-e-dir, almost like 'pair o' deer'. In the north, the final vowel's a bit different, not exactly like any English vowel that I can reference, but somewhat similar to the south Walian pronunciation.
I really like this name! Can't believe I've never heard it before. I assume it's pronounced PER-uh-door. And if it is, I think I like it better than the more common (though still not very common) Percival.
