Comments for the name Plamen

"Plamena" is the female variant of "Plamen".

It means "fire" in Croatian. It would be stupid if you would name your kid Fire, don't you think so?

Also Serbian and it means "flame". [noted -ed] To the comment above; the name is supposed to denote a "vigorous, lively person" like the flame. Some names are literal but some go a bit under the surface.

"Plamen" also means "flame" in other Slavic languages, such as Czech, Slovak and Slovenian. It's pretty much an "all-Slavic" word. :)
