Comments for the name Posy

Posy is the worst name I have ever heard! Why would anybody give their child a stupid name like that? It's so babyish.

That is a VERY wierd name. If you want your daughter's name to mean 'flower', use 'Flora' instead.

I however love this name as a nickname. IT IS NOT A FLOWER NAME. Posy Fossil is one of the greatest girls in modern literature (Ballet Shoes) and I think this name is a lot better than some modern names people come up with.

It sounds silly, ugly, girly, and infantile.

I didn't know this was a pet form of Josephine. I always thought it came from the flower Posy.

Positive outlooks of names are so much better than the negative, and more fun to read, too. What's wrong with being girly? Besides that, I think Posy is a lovely name for reasons I'm not totally sure about. I'm not into ballet but I liked "Ballet Shoes".

I like the name Posy. It brings to mind a creative, independent, feminine lady. I'm not sure how you would get this from Josephine, though--seems like you would automatically be called Jo or Josie instead.

My name is Persephone and Posie is my nickname so I think it's very cute. I've only ever gotten compliments on it so I think it's great.

Felity's lamb from the American Girl books is named Posy.
