It is the genus of a medicinal herb in the mint family.-- earthnut 7/11/2006
American children will recognize Prunella as a character in the TV show Arthur. She is a grade above the titular character, is interested in yoga, psychics, and the paranormal, and is often somewhat condescending.-- WeloveyouJesseLacey 6/25/2007
Too much like "prune" for me.-- LilaMayaNeve 9/14/2007
Prunella Bodkin Godfrey, known as Pru Devon, host of the radio program "Nights in Latin America" from 1948 to 1971 on radio station WQXR in New York.-- Kosta 1/7/2009
I think this is a really old-fashioned but lovely name. I think this name has always reminded me of dew-covered, grassy fields and traditional home cooking for some reason. But now, whilst this name also reminds me of these things, it more strongly reminds me of Prunella vulgaris (the self-heal plant), which was used traditionally in many ancient Northern-European doctrines of medicine, and general herbal remedies, used to cure illness or general minor ailments.-- walesgal92 11/1/2009
Prunella Scales is cool, but I find the name so darn unattractive!-- Caprice 11/28/2011
