Meaning & History

Means "white tail", derived from Spanish rabo "tail" and Spanish cano "white". The original word described a horse with white hairs in its tail, though nowadays rabicano refers to a certain coat color for horses, specifically in roans. In literature, Rabicano is a magical horse featured in the epic romantic poem "Orlando Furioso" written by Ludovico Ariosto.
