In the UK, 'Randy' means horny! Needless to say I don't know anyone called Randy in the UK.
"Randy" means "prostitute" in Hindi, the language of India. :(
Randel was a medieval name given in honour. The edge of a shield protects. Randy means protector. Fools mistake this name for "edgy".
I think Randy can also be short for Miranda. [noted -ed]
Randy in Old English means stong and enthusiastic. It is a great name. You can use it for both female and male, but female wise it would be spelt Randi, with an i. It is also very easy to pronounce.
