Riko is a popular girls name in Japan.
It first entered the top 10 in 2002. Since then it has fallen in and out of the top 10. It peaked at #2 in 2010. Currently (as of 2018) it is at #10.
Even though -ko used to be a very common ending in girls names it has been used less and less in recent decades. Riko is currently (as of 2018) the only girls name ending in -ko in the Japanese top 100.
The only three -ko ending Japanese girls names who have entered the top 10 since 1990 are Momoko, Nanako and Riko.
It is most commonly spelled as 莉子 (white jasmine + child).
