The French author Romain Rolland (1866-1944) was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1915. His most famous work was the novel "Jean-Christophe".
It's just the word remain spelt differently.

I absolutely love this name. Roman is nice too, but I just love the way Romain sounds and looks.
It's pronounced Ro-MAH in French.
French actor Romain Duris is a famous bearer.
