Roscoe Holcomb (1911-1981). A Kentucky farmer, coal miner, and folk artist; he played the banjo, guitar, harmonica, and sang with the high forlorn pitch that today is regarded as Bluegrass music. He was first recorded in 1958 and found success as a professional performer with the folk revival of the 1960’s. Counted among his fans are Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan.

I seem to remember a children's cartoon called "Roscoe's Modern Life," but what made me think of the name was the title character's son in the short story "the Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Roscoe eventually ends up taking care of his father when he becomes a child.

No MoonAgeDayDreamer. You're thinking of Rocko's Modern Life. It was an excellent show.

Marvel comic book character Captain America is named Roscoe Simons. I adore this name and the nickname Ross. To me, it's a super hero or pulp fiction cowboy name!

The name Roscoe is used twice throughout the film 'Django Unchained'. It is both the name of Dicky Speck's horse, and the name of Calvin Candie's slave bartender.
