I think Roxy would make a cute nickname or a name for a pet, but I'd stick with Roxanne, Roxana or the like for a girl's full legal name. That way she can have a nickname to use with close friends and family as well as a more mature name to use when applying for a job or speaking with acquaintances.

Reminds me of... 1) The girl from the movie Chicago, because that's the only time I've ever heard it used on a person. 2) The brand Roxy, which is pretty cool, and 3) Taylor Lautner's dog, who's pretty cute. But overall, I probably wouldn't name my daughter Roxy.

I like this name. I plan on naming my pomeranian puppy this when I get her. Imagine a cute, tiny, fluffy, cream colored dog with this name. The name will definitely fit her spunky personality.
