Also known as Ruggero, Rogero (English), or Roger (French), a character from the Carolingian cycle/Matter of France. He is a Muslim knight who converts to Christianity to marry the warrior Bradamante; his sister Marfisa/Marphise is also a warrior. He defeats the villain Rodomonte at the end of the Furioso. He and Bradamante are the mythical ancestors of the d'Este noble house.The character appears in many works, including:
