I think Serena is a gorgeous name. It is feminine, elegant and classy, and it has a beautiful meaning. It sounds almost mystical to me, which I love. I also think it ages well, as I can picture this name on a female of any age. Overall, I think Serena is a wonderful name.
This is a lovely name. It has a calm and peaceful vibe to it.
Another beautiful name on my list. Very pretty. And Serena Williams isn’t a concern for me. It’s not like she’s a representation of all Serena’s.
It’s pretty, but I prefer the Sarina spelling.
Soft and beautiful.
Serena like the tuna 🐠.
Serena reminds me of Serena Tuna 🍣.
It's ironic that this name means calm or peaceful. Serena Williams is anything but. She has the worst temper of any woman in sports. She has also used racist slurs against Asians. She once threatened to kill a tennis official. No amount of talent can excuse that type of behavior.
Definitely better than "Selena" which sounds like a terrible disease. Serena sounds like the Spanish word for mermaid which is great!
Could also be based off the word, "serene".
Siri could be a nickname for this.
I don't care about the Serena Williams association. I love this name, I always have. It's very pretty and unique. I think I like the combos Serena Lilith, Serena Joan, Serena Elise, and Serena Ann.
I prefer Serene or Selena. Serena's pretty but it reminds me too much of Serena Williams and I absolutely cannot stand her. So yeah, no thank you.
This is one of those names I truly hope makes a comeback in the future. It is very beautiful but also dignified and other-wordly. I, as a 90s baby myself, was first exposed to it through the American Dub of Sailor Moon and likewise imagine a sensitive but very loving and brave young lady. I think it has more "legs" to be usable across a lifetime when compared to Serenity. Serenity I imagine as only a child but Serena is good for any age group from newborn to centenarian. If you are considering it, I think it is a great choice! :)
Enchanting and sereeene. Love a name with a long history too.
Pretty. Nice meaning.
Some middle names:
Serena Savannah
Serena Ellody

Sounds so natural and nice.
Very pretty. I love.
Also Romanian. You'll find bearers on social media.

My name is Serena, my parents chose it. 1. Thought it was pretty and 2. My older brother was such a loud, boisterous kid they named me it in the hope I would be my namesake (peaceful etc). It did work out that way in the end too!
I didn't like my name when I was little because I thought it sounded "babyish" but I don't mind it now and I get complemented on my name regularly by almost everyone!
My nicknames are- Reeni, Reena, Neens, Beena and various other terrible family nicknames like Reenibobs, Reerah, Serenanina (to mention the least silly) and of course inevitably I get called every similar sounding name going - Sabrina, Selena... Sevrina (not sure that's even a name?)
But I actually really love the name Sirena which is a different name that comes from the mythical man-eating mermaids of mythology (Sirens).
So take from this what you will, but overall the names seems to be received well!
I've always liked Serena as a name. Though I'm far more likely to use the similar-sounding Sabrina in real life, I'll never turn up my nose at Serena. It's suitable for all ages, elegant without being boring / staid, individual without being too "out there."

This is a gorgeous name! I think Reni is a very cute nickname and Serena sounds very professional when the kid grows up. Whoever has this name is very lucky.
Selena is so pretty, I love it!
Not appealing to me. Strangely, I love Sarina though. Go with Sarina or any form of Selene.
Serena is my favorite female British text to speech voice.
Pretty.
I think this name is awful. Suh-ree-nuh. Yuck! Anyone who likes this name must have awful taste. Serena is an awful name. It is worse than Joanna, Nicole, Charlotte, Eleanora, Valentine, Sophia, and whatnot.

This was going to be one of my names and it's so pretty! I love the sound and the combo Serena Maria sounds gorgeous!
This is such a soft and delicate name. I never really thought of it as a name for my daughter but I do now, I love it with the middle name Noelle and Elizabeth and for siblings I love it with Luna, Dante and Melody also Angeline. Serena & Melody would sound so pretty. So I'm not sure yet but it's on my list. I imagine a cool photographer who goes by Rena who lives in New York or Sailor moon, not that Gossip Girls mess.
My name is Serena and I hated it because I hated my father and he is the one who choose that name. Now I'm all about myself, I am a really fun person who is lovable, peaceful and very much pretty :) I am the meaning of my name. My aunt calls me Rena.

We named our daughter (born on June 17, 2016) Serena. It's a beautiful name that fits perfectly for our beautiful baby girl. Every time I said it during the pregnancy it made me smile. We've also received nothing but positive comments from family, friends & coworkers. It's the perfect name for our little angel!
This name is pretty boring and doesn't sound good. Sounds like a name someone annoying would have.
My name is Sarena. My mother heard the name while on vacation and she loved it so much that she named me Sarena. I didn't like my name when I was younger because I was teased and bullied a lot. I like it now because it's becoming a little more popular. More parents are naming their daughters Sarena (or with an alternate spelling.)
My name is Serena and I get bullied for it. I hate my name so much I go by Crystal.
Since it's from Latin, the "common" pronunciation is wrong. The correct one is pretty strong - Sèrèna. The "e" is pronounced without the English inflection.

I LOVE it!

Related name: Serenity.
Serena is beautiful and it's a name fit for a princess like I feel this is perfect for a little girl. One of my favorite books by Katie Contugno, had a character name Serena who went by Rena and I thought it was the most cutest thing and I can imagine a baby Serena and a teen Rena and the rest is optional, but I still love this name.

I love this name, but I wonder why no one's ever used "Serene" (pronounced the way you'd pronounce it in English) as a boy's name (or even gender neutral). Same meaning of course, just a male/unisex version for the name.

How can everyone love this name but not like Serenity? In my opinion, Serenity is prettier and with better associations. Serena isn't bad, but I liked it a lot more before that horrid 'Gossip Girl' crap started plaguing the world.
My name is Serena and I haven't liked it until recently because it means 'peaceful' and I'm not very peaceful at all, but I read a book called 'Serena' and the character wasn't at all peaceful, which I really liked because it made the name so versatile. I think it's a beautiful, romantic name without being overly girly and also strong (without being boyish), smart (without being nerdy) and very sophisticated (without being pompous). I love having an old Latin name and also just love the fact that my name is never really in or out of style. I just dislike that I have to spell it for people because there are so many alternative spellings! I wouldn't recommend alternative spellings because it's gorgeous and classy as it is. Overall, it's a great name!
Can be pronounced one of three ways (maybe more): s[]-RAYN-n[], s[]-REN-n[], or s[]-REEN-[].
Extremely beautiful, but seems a bit ditzy to me. I like all of the pronunciations, its hard for me to decide on a favourite. Sarina is an alright spelling, but it looks too similar to the ghastly and common Sabrina. Serina and Sarena may be better so that people don't mistake you for "another Sabrina".
Really pretty name. I knew a little girl named this, she was such a sweetheart. :)
I don't really like or dislike this name; however, it really reminds me of the word "cerebral".

The name of a lead character on the hit teen drama show Gossip Girl; Serena is a reformed wild child known for her modelling and beautiful blonde locks.Just thought I'd add that I ADORE this name. I kind of prefer it spelled Sarina, and it should be noted that girls might not like it's flashy, flowery feel and would want a more common name, but I think it's so pretty, regal and unique. And now that Isabella is the #2 name in America, Serena is one of the few names like that that isn't completely generic.
