Shams Pahlavi (1917-1996) was one of the sisters of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran.
Shams is also used as a unisex given name in Modern Arabic and Persian. So, I think that the "Usage" of this name should be updated to read, "Semitic Mythology, Arabic, Persian"; and the "Gender" of this name should be updated to read, "Feminine & Masculine". [noted -ed]Scripts: زيف (Arabic), شمس (Persian)Sources: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shams

If you replace the last "s" with "e" you get... shame.
LOVE the meaning. What could be cooler?
It’s not pronounced SHAMS, it’s SHEH-miss. Take it from at completely different approach.
