Actually 'slainte' with a fada on the 'a' means health in Irish.

When pronounced correctly, I think this name is really pretty. But it's kind of ironic when you look at it--it looks like the English word 'slain' which means killed, and it actually means health!

Actually, it is supposed to be pronounced more like SLAW-nya.
