Yes Sol from Warriors.
Sól or Sunna (Old High German) is the Sun personified in Germanic mythology. One of the two Old High German Merseburg Incantations, written in the 9th or 10th century CE, attests that Sunna is the sister of Sinthgunt. In Norse mythology, Sól is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In both the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda she is described as the sister of the personified moon, Máni, is the daughter of Mundilfari, is at times referred to as Álfröðull, and is foretold to be killed by a monstrous wolf during the events of Ragnarök, though beforehand she will have given birth to a daughter who continues her mother's course through the heavens.
Sól appears throughout Old Norse literature. Scholars have produced theories about the development of the goddess from potential Nordic Bronze Age and Proto-Indo-European roots. Dagr, the personified day in Norse mythology

Her right hand cast over heaven's rim;
No knowledge she had where her home should be,

I prefer Sol over Solenne. Solenne is becoming rather common but why not just go for the root word of the name, which is, Sol! It means "Sun" but it is a very real name used in the Spanish speaking nations. I would go for Sol.
Sol from Warrior Cats :)
Sol is also sometimes used as a masculine independent given name in Spanish and Portuguese, meaning "sun" in said languages. However, Sol is more common for females. So, I think that the "Gender" of this name should be changed from "Feminine" to "Feminine & Masculine".Sources: https://forebears.io/forenames/sol

RIP Sol Pais. This is a beautiful name.
I love this name. It would be a great nickname for Solomon.
It has a masculine gender in Spanish and Portuguese (el Sol, o Sol) but that doesn't make the name itself masculine and it is often paired with Maria in Spanish speaking areas as Maria del Sol.
Rest In Peace Sol Pais. (2001-2019)
Sol Hachuel (1817 - 1834) was a Moroccan Jewish girl who was publicly executed for alleged apostasy against Islam, even though there is no evidence she ever converted to Islam. She is said to have been extremely beautiful and is considered a tzadeket, or a saint by both some Jewish and Muslim communities.
Sol Santacruz (played by Adriana Torrebejano) is a character in the Spanish telenovela 'El Secreto de Puente Viejo'.
Sol is also the diminutive of Soledad.
Beautiful name. Could also be a nickname for Solana, Solange or Summer.
In portuguese and Spanish "Sol" only means "Sun", not "THE Sun". [noted -ed]
Maria Soledad Rodríguez Belli, known by her stage name Sol Rodriguez, is an Argentinian actress, singer, dancer and model, of Spanish and Italian descent. She is best known for the role of Mecha in the Nickelodeon Latin America's series Grachi. Rodríguez has released several songs from the soundtrack of Grachi, sung along with other members of the cast.
Sol Daystar (also known as Amemiya Taiyou) is a character in Inazuma Eleven GO.
For a girl, it's ok. Not beautiful, but okay. I like the meaning.
There's also a famous girl named Sol Rodriguez or something.
"Sol" only means "Sun" in Spanish, not "the sun". Also it means "sun" in Catalan.
I love this name. I would like to name my daughter like this. Also if you read the etimology of this ancient word you will like it more.
Sol is the name of a daughter of the Argentine footballer Javier Zanetti.
In Spanish it is used as a feminine name because of the Marian title Nuestra Señora del Sol (Our Lady of the Sun).
I've been checking over my previous comments and I haven't been able to find such a Marian title. However I did discover that in the Cantar de Mio Cid (a Spanish epic poem written sometime between 1195-1207) one of El Cid's daughters is called Sol. The other is called Elvira. This could have inspired some of the usage of Sol in contemporary Spain, though it could just be used as a nature name in reference to the sun, similar to Luna ("moon").
Can be a short form of Marisol.
In Roman myths Sol was the god of the sun. Like Helios and Apollo were for the Greeks.
Dunno if this counts as a "famous bearer" per se. But you know how stars (suns) have names, like Alpha Proximi and Sirius and Betelgeuse and stuff? Our sun is called Sol.
Sol also means "the sun" in Swedish. It's a unique name here!
Sol does not mean the sun in Swedish, sol means sun in Swedish. The sun is solen in Swedish.
I recently met someone called Jen Sol. I thought it was cool, unusual name.
"Sol" also means "fade, wither" in Turkish.
It's the name for the musical note "G".
Sol Kelly Jones, an eighteen year old girl who has been speaking out publicly against gay marriage bans since she was ten, is probably one of the most recognizable Sols there is just now. (At least, she is for Wisconsinites.) Her mothers found her name in the Norwegian story Vaeltaa refers to -- they liked the symbolism the sun could have, and the fact that the name could fit a boy or a girl.
This name means also "the Sun", in Norwegian. One female character in the Norwegian book series "The Tale About The Ice People" bears this name.
Simply means 'Sun' in Norwegian. This was used in the book series "Sagaen Om Isfolket", her name was Sol Angelica, the books is called "The LEGEND OF The Ice People" in English (NOT tale about)!
Sól is the Norse goddess of the sun and the sister of the moon (Måne). The name is the same as the Norwegian word for "sun" -- "The sun" would in Norwegian be Solen or Sola, both are correct, and in Spanish it is "el Sol", which is masculine.PS: There are 368 women in Norway with Sol as their first given name, 111 women in
Norway has this as their only given name. I am Norwegian and love Sol- names.
