I wonder if there is any boy called Tabitha in the world. I bet not.
The name Tabitha was given to 289 girls born in the US in 2016.
More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Tabitha are female.
TALITHA would be an excellent twin name.
My parents actually named me based on the show bewitched lol. But later named my brothers Jacob, Gabriel, & Matthew so they were happy my name was biblical aswell! I love my name and how unique it is! I wouldn't change it for a million! It don't even bother me when people ask if I can wiggle my nose, haha.
I read somewhere once that Tabitha was a popular slave name in N. America. I'm sure the Biblical references played a big part. I'd like to see more African-Americans give this name to their daughters. It's part of their heritage and harks back to a time when one of the few freedoms a black woman might be given in America was the right to name her children. Just a thought.
Tabitha appeared on the top 1000 list in the 1880's. It came back on the top 1000 list in the 1960's. Its most popular year was the 1980's where it ranked 151.
This is a very common name for female tabby cats.
