Takeshi

Takeshi (タケシ) is the Japanese name of the Pewter City Gym Leader in the Pokemon anime, games, and manga. He is known as Brock in English.

Takeshi is the name of one of the main characters in the Japanese language textbook series Genki.

Takeshi Shudo was a Japanese scriptwriter and novelist, best known for his work on the Pokémon franchise.

Takeshi Hidaka is a Japanese professional baseball catcher for the Hanshin Tigers in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball.

Takeshi Hosoyamada is a professional Japanese baseball player. He plays catcher for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks.

Takeshi Kaneko is a professional Japanese baseball player. He plays pitcher for the Chunichi Dragons. On 16 April, Kaneko made his debut against the Hanshin Tigers at the Nagoya Dome in one inning of relief where he retired 3 batters in a row. He was the first of the 4 pitchers drafted in 2014 to make his debut. Kaneko would go on to play in a further 10 games all coming as a relief pitcher where he threw 13.2 innings with a 3.95 ERA and 12 strikeouts. Only one appearance would happen for Kaneko in 2016 where on May 8 he took charge of the 9th inning against the Yomiuri Giants with the Dragons holding an 11-2 lead where Kaneko gave up a 2-run homerun to Yoshiyuki Kamei before closing out.

Takeshi Utsumi is a dedicated former Fulbright Scholar who has, for some decades, devoted himself to experimenting with and demonstrating the technology that can bring needed learning, health care and perhaps "peace to everyone on our planet." He is the founder and vice president for "Technology and Coordination" of the Global University System, and is the co-editor of a new book about that project, Global Peace Through The Global University System. The book has been published at the University of Tampere in Finland. Because of his belief that the spread of education is essential for ultimate global peace, Utsumi decided to find people with similar thoughts and to spread these beliefs. Beginning as an individual, Utsumi built an e-mail network from the "bottom-up" of people who share the dream. These people then began to join him in experiments and demonstrations of possibilities for using information technologies to bring affordable, essential learning to those parts of the developing world that have been difficult to reach. Peace gaming is a neologism coined by Utsumi to describe non-military global simulations, or simulations that involve both military and civilian variables.

Takeshi Morishima is a retired Japanese professional wrestler. Morishima is best known for his work with Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan and has also performed for Ring of Honor (ROH) in the United States in the past. He is a former three-time GHC Heavyweight Champion and one-time ROH World Champion. Morishima currently holds a position on Noah's board of directors.

Takeshi Konomi is a Japanese manga artist, known for creating the manga series The Prince of Tennis which ran from 1999 to 2008. Every year the National Tax Agency releases a list of the highest income tax payers for entertainers in Japan. The higher someone's income tax, the higher their actual presumed earnings; however it is possible for a person to have paid more taxes than another person who made more money. Takeshi Konomi placed number nine on this list in 2002.

Takeshi Kaga is a well-known stage and movie actor in Japan who is probably best known internationally for his portrayal of Chairman Kaga in the Japanese television show Iron Chef produced by Fuji TV.

Takeshi Kaneshiro is a Taiwanese-Japanese actor and singer. In 1992, Kaneshiro made his singing debut, entering the business with the nickname Aniki, meaning 'older brother' in Japanese. His debut album was Heartbreaking Night (1992). Contracted to EMI, he wrote many of his own Mandarin and Cantonese songs. The following year, his popularity propelled him into acting and he no longer produces any commercial music.

Takeshi Obata is a Japanese manga artist that usually works as the illustrator in collaboration with a writer. He first gained international attention for Hikaru no Go (1998–2003) with Yumi Hotta, but is better known for Death Note (2003–2006) and Bakuman. (2008–2012) with Tsugumi Ohba. Obata has mentored several well-known manga artists, including Nobuhiro Watsuki of Rurouni Kenshin fame, Black Cat creator Kentaro Yabuki, and Eyeshield 21 artist Yusuke Murata.

Takeshi Urata was a Japanese astronomer. He was a prolific discoverer of asteroids, observing at Nihondaira Observatory.

Takeshi Aoki is a Japanese footballer who plays for Japanese club Sagan Tosu. He made his international debut for Japan on August 20, 2008 in a friendly against Uruguay at Sapporo Dome.
