"Tal" means dew and "ia" is the shorthand for "God" in the Bible. Talia means "God's Dew" in Hebrew. It means a "female sheep" in Arabic. It is also one of the names of the Greek Muses.

I was on this website once that said Talia was Greek and had the meaning of born on Christmas. I think this name is very pretty.
-- Tito82  12/20/2006
The "born on Christmas" meaning likely comes from Talia's common use as a nickname for Natalia, which has that same meaning.

I heard Talia is also related to Thalia. So Talia has the meaning of Dew from Heaven but also a Greek Muse. Of course I heard it meant a little lamb which is a baby Sheep. So I believe it is a beautiful name. It has multiple meanings depending on your origin. But I do believe the main meaning is Dew from Heaven.
