Hurrumph, I don't really like this name on either sex, but if you insist on using it, you'd better have a baby boy to give it to instead of a girl. This name sounds masculine, it's got that -er ending and everything. The name doesn't sound pretty, and it is weird to imagine that there may be adorable curly-haired toddlers in frilly dresses named Tanner. I pity the feminine and conventional girls and young women with this unattractive, boyish name that doesn't even sound very sophistocated, more like the name of lower class country guys. It does NOT sound spunky on tomboys or androgynous girls and women, and it doesn't sound cool on any other unconventional females either.-- slight night shiver 5/8/2008
