Ancient Thrace is now over 60% in Bulgaria. [noted -ed] But with that name is associated a large group of ancient peoples in the territories of today's Bulgaria, Serbia, Republic of Macedonia, Northern Greece, Big part of Anatolia, European Turkey and Romania. Moreover, this is the oldest European culture predating the Greek and Roman history.
One of the most important states on this land is the Odrysian Kingdom, that existed circa 460 BC-46 AD.
The Odrysian Kingdom is the last to fall under Roman rule. Notable people of thracian origin are: Orpheus, Spartacus, Galerius, Licinus, Justinian the Great, Macian and many others.
