Tía (Spanish) and Tia (Portuguese) are the Spanish and Portuguese words for "Aunt", respectively. In speech, Tía (Spanish) or Tia (Portuguese) will sometimes precede the name of someone's aunt. For example, if someone's aunt's name is María/Maria (a popular given name), the aunt may be called "Tía María" (Spanish), or "Tia Maria" (Portuguese). :D.
The name Tia was given to 211 girls born in the US in 2015.
Also used as a feminine name in Slovenia.
It is NOT a Slovene name. It's only a modern name used beacuse parents want to be fancy by using foreign names.
