Meaning & History

Means "of the river Tiber" in Latin (also see Tiberius), as -inus is a Latin masculine adjectival suffix.

In Roman mythology, Tiberinus is the name of the god of the Tiber as well as of Tiberinus Silvius, a legendary king of Alba Longa who is said to have reigned in the 10th century BC.

This name was not restricted to mythology, as the Romans also used it as a cognomen in real life.
