Pronounced ta-SIF-ah-nee. Despite its "odd" meaning, I think it quite pretty.

Vengence and murder. How cute! I can totally picture it on someone with really gothic poets for parents, in a strangely cool way.

Gorgeous sound, poetic meaning, but I'd never give this name to a child. "avenging murder?" yikes.

I absolutely ADORE the name Tisiphone. It is easily one of the most gorgeous names I've heard; and the meaning is a strong one. "Avenging murder" is a lovely meaning to me, for some reason.
I think this name is much better than other more frequently used Greek names, like Chloe, Zoe, Daphne, and even Persephone.
This name is easily one of my favorites!

Tisiphone is a beautiful name, and the meaning doesn't bother me at all. However, I feel like if I ever named my daughter this, everyone would call her Tiffany all the time. Yuck.

Not sure about the meaning, but what a pretty name!

Tisiphone is one of the Erinyes or Furies. Furies are female deities of vengeance. They each avenged different crimes. Tisiphone is the one who punished crimes of murder. She also has two sisters Alecto and Megaera who are furies, too. Cool names for triplets! That's were Tisiphone's meaning comes from.

This is a great name. Strong, pretty, and different. The meaning can be a turn-off, but avenging murder can be a good thing.
